Zohar Bonnie
Born on march 2, 1978, in Tel Aviv, Israel. Currently based in Berlin.
Zohar started his musical studies at the age of 14, playing bass guitar. He soon started to play the double bass and played jazz and rock with local bands.
After finishing high school, Zohar studied the piano for a couple of years, and enrolled to Tel Aviv University to study conducting, composition, Cinema and Arts Philosophy.
At the university he studied with professor Noam Shariff (conducting), and professor Amy Ma'ayani(composition). He also perfected his musical skills in the fields of arrangement, orchestration, and harmony. He acted as the technician for the university's electronic music centre studios.
During his studies and afterwards, Zohar worked on various musical projects, including writing music for films, playing and touring with bands ("Habalyanim"), and writing, arranging and producing professionally.
Zohar feels as much at home with rock and electronic music as with classic and ethnic music. His love for films and the study of cinema has made him an ideal composer of film music.
